This is an interesting trekking, during the trek you can visit three main monasteries, Wanla, Mangyu and Alchi of Ladakh region, founded by Lama Lotseva Rinchen Zangpo ( the great Translator), around XIth. Century. The highest pass on this trek is Tarla (5200m), which is difficult.

Day 1st : Leh-Lamayuru ( 120 kms), 4/5 hours by Jeep
Four hours drive will take you to Lamayuru which is one of the oldest and most famous monastery in the region situated on the national highway between Leh-Srinagar, day to visit around the village and the monastery. Overnight in tents.

Day 2nd : Lamayuru - Wanla
Today is your first day to start trek immediately steep down and cross the stream, the gradually climbing across a mountain side and reach Printikiti-la (3700m). continue walk to Shilla then to Wanla, visit the monastery, overnight in tents.

Day 3rd: Wanla to Ursi 6/7 hours. Trek
Leave in the morning and easy ascending up to the destination, arrive in the evening, overnight in tents.

Day 4th :Ursi to Tarla to Tar 8/9 hours. Trek
This is the difficult day but Panoramic too, the path is well marked and steep ascending up tp Tar-la (5200m) five and a half hours walk. Another three hours descend and arrive at the village of Tar. Overnight in tent.

Day 5th :Tar to Mangyu 4/5 hours. Trek
Leave after breakfast and the path goes up along the mountain side to a small pass, then easy descend towards Mangyu. This is attractive village with interesting monastery. Good campsite near the stream. Overnight in tents.

Day 6th : Mangyu to Gera-Alchi 4/5 hours. Trek –Leh 2 hrs drive
From here good path into a beautiful narrow valley. After two hours reach the Indus valley at Gera village. Follow the Indus up stream cross continue until reaching the motorable road. Three kilometers before Alchi. Another one hour time will take you to Alchi monastery. Drive to Leh which will take us 2 hours. Trek ends here.
